What is a Limited Conservatorship?

Sometimes an adult has developmental disability and could be considered a “limited conservatee” by a judge.  In such a case, a court would appoint a responsible “limited conservator” to care for the disabled adult according to the California Courts.  Similar to general conservatorship, there is a limited conservatorship of the person and a limited conservatorship of the estate.  Duties of the limited conservator include deciding living arrangement, sign contract for the limited conservatee, make decisions on education and vocational training, manage financial affairs, and more.
