Want to Keep Your Brain Healthy? Try Eating Chocolate

a-1 home care elder care calabasas

Chocolate is one of the more unique things that we enjoy, and it can be a special indulgence for many of us.  According to an article in the Los Angeles Times, “chocolate may help improve brain health and thinking skills in the elderly”.  The study shows that people who have done poorly in reasoning tests had improvements in their brain from drinking cocoa twice a day for one month.  Although the sample size from the study is small, but it is definitely encouraging.  However, they did regulate their fat and sugar intake for this study to compensate for the extra the elderly got from the chocolate.  As a result, you shouldn’t begin to binge on chocolate, and like everything in life, eat dark chocolate in moderation.
